Wool & Water Festival – September 2019

A celebration of art, craft and heritage. Stroudwater Textile Trust and the Cotswolds Canal Trust have come together with the Museum in the Park and other organisations to celebrate the area’s long history of wool and waterways.

The Wool & Water Festival includes a wide variety of exhibitions, events and activities.

Considering Stroud’s woollen cloth industry and the worlds within Curator: Patricia Brien.Artists throughput the UK are invited to create work responding to articles that demonstrate our rich textile heritage. Walking The Land, as painters, sculptors, photographers, videographers, curators, academics and educators produce work which refers to specific places, localities and environments, combining art and walking. This exhibition reflects a specific walk for the Festival, à la recherche du temps perdu.

The Members of the Stroudwater Textile Trust will be responding to the Festival’s theme of Wool & Water that includes landscape, mills, waterways, architecture, machinery, and social history.
