St Mary’s Mill will be open for National Mills Weekend, 11 and 12 May 2024. It will also be open for the Heritage Open Days on 14 and 15 September. There will be no charge for admission. Please click on the Book a Visit link opposite to see available times. Tickets must be booked in advance.

There’s something different to see at each site. During the summer you can visit Dunkirk and Gigg on the same day. At Dunkirk you can experience the huge water wheel turning and driving textile machinery; at Gigg you can see historic looms and try weaving yourself. Dunkirk Mill Museum

Dunkirk Mill Museum is part of a large mill complex, reached by an attractive walk down the former railway track, past the restored mill pond. At the Museum, the water wheel will run and the guides will demonstrate all the intricate machinery that was used to finish the cloth after it left the loom.
