Planning a visit

Before
Teachers are advised to make a pre-visit to the mills to discuss learning outcomes, risk assessments and the visit timetable. Contact Jane Ford at education@stroudtextiletrust.org.uk.

Booking
Please complete the Booking Form below, and we can then get back to you to discuss your school’s precise needs.

Costs
For the two mills package, we will charge £4 per child. (One mill, £3.)
For accompanying adults, there is no charge. Other activities have varying charges. We are a volunteer organisation and, as a charity, we welcome voluntary contributions.

Payment
An invoice will be issued when the booking form is received. Payment can be by cheque or BACS.

Numbers
You can visit either mill separately, or both on the same day. For mill visits, the class may need to be divided - a maximum of 16 children can be accommodated at each site.

Duration
Please allow at least one hour at each mill.

Supervision
Please ensure that there are sufficient adults to supervise children between sites, which does involve crossing roads. There will always be adequate supervision from our experienced volunteer guides within the sites.

Clothing
Wear warm clothing: Dunkirk Mill can be chilly, even in the summer. Suitable footwear, such as trainers, will be needed for walking the cycle path.
